Donald Murphy MA., MIAI

Senior Archaeologist & Project Manager

Donald has over 20 years experience in the management of archaeological projects throughout Ireland. He has acted as Senior Archaeologist & Project Manager on some of the largest infrastructural schemes ever carried out in Ireland including the M1 Northern Motorway Project, N22 Ballincollig Bypass Project, M3 Clonee to North of Kells Motorway Scheme and M4 Kinnegad Enfield Kilcock PPP Scheme. He has successfully liaised with Statutory Authorities on behalf of clients and has substantial expertise in the area of planning, development and archaeological mitigation. He has provided expert witness testimony at Oral Hearings and in the Courts and advised and acted on behalf of PPP consortia, State Agencies, Local Authorities and Private Developers. He has also published the results of several excavations undertaken by the company over the years.

Linda Clarke Archaeologist

Linda Clarke BA

Senior Archaeologist

Linda has 13 years experience in archaeological fieldwork and research and has directed the excavation of some major archaeological sites including the early medieval settlement site at Boyerstown. Co. Meath and cemetery site at Ardsallagh, Co. Meath in advance of the M3 Motorway and the multi-period settlement and cemetery at Johnstown, Co. Meath in advance of the M4 Motorway Project where 400 burials were recovered. She has published articles on several excavations and co-authored The Archaeology of life and death in the Boyne floodplain: the linear landscape of the M4 which is a full acount of the archaeological excavations carried out in advance of the M4 Kinnegad Enfield Kilcock Motorway Scheme.



Martin Halpin

Draughting Department Manager

Martin Halpin has worked in the production of archaeological drawings for reports and books since 1994. Starting out as a freelance illustrator, he joined A.C.S. full time in 1997 and has been head of the draughting department ever since. He has co-ordinated the draughting element of many of the large motorway projects in the country including the archaeological assessment and resolution of the M1, M3, M7 & N25 motorway projects. He was also heavily involved in the award-winning excavation of the Bronze Age settlement in Corrstown, County Derry and many urban redevelopments including The Old Grammar School and Medieval Harbour site in Drogheda among many others. He contributed the illustrations for many published articles and books including Corrstown, A Coastal Community, Excavations of a Bronze Age village in Northern Ireland, Clanricard's Castle, Portumna House, Co. Galway, Cois tSiúire - nine thousand years of human activity in the Lower Suir Valley and Monumental Beginnings - The archaeology of the N4 Sligo Inner Relief Road.
